Super. Bad. Code.

OMG UFO FILES

Right?

N..o? Not really? I guess I wouldn’t be in the minority if I said I genuinely did not even think twice about it, or thought anyone would even care. Boy was I wrong, some people really want others to care so here’s my two words on it:

The website is AI

You’re telling me this isn’t textbook AI-design-me-a-website aesthetic? Fuck off! This is AI, left and right. Even the descriptions on some of these things is hilariously AI generated.
Like for example here’s the main landing page Main page of war.gov/UFO

And the descriptions that look ai? Look at this:
Screenshot of one of the files

Actual site photo, dear god! Let’s take a look at it… Said actual site photo, reuploaded

This gave me an idea

Doesn’t this read a lot like… Someone told ChatGPT to write these SCP-like depictions of events? Like, the wording on them feels incredibly AI.
So I thought, wouldn’t it be funny to ask Claude (Opus 4.6) to write an SCP about a fictional political figure, after feeding it the major events and stories in American media. Here is the satire SCP entry Claude produced, enjoy? Idk I’m not that fond of AI either for all its issues and things but this is hilarious.

Item #: SCP-4547

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4547 cannot be contained through conventional means. All attempts at institutional containment (judicial, legislative, journalistic) have failed due to the entity’s primary anomalous property (see Description). Foundation personnel embedded within the affected nation’s government are advised to maintain documentation only, as direct intervention has been shown to accelerate SCP-4547’s effects.

MTF Sigma-24 (“Fact-Checkers”) has been disbanded following the psychological breakdown of all twelve members during Incident 4547-Bravo (see Addendum-3).

A minimum of three Foundation archivists are to maintain a real-time timeline of SCP-4547 events. Archivists must rotate on 48-hour shifts, as prolonged exposure to the full event sequence induces acute depersonalization disorder and a persistent sense of “narrative unreality.” Archivists who begin stating “this can’t be real” are to be relieved immediately.

Description: SCP-4547 is a political entity occupying the highest executive office of a major Western nation-state. The entity superficially resembles an adult male human and exhibits no anomalous physical properties upon direct examination.

SCP-4547’s anomalous properties manifest exclusively at scale and operate on the collective attention of populations exceeding approximately 50 million individuals. The primary anomalous effect is designated AE-4547-CASCADE and functions as follows:

SCP-4547 generates a continuous, accelerating sequence of crisis events (diplomatic, military, legal, institutional) at a rate that exceeds the cognitive processing capacity of any democratic accountability system designed to operate on one or two simultaneous controversies. Each event, taken in isolation, would constitute a nationally significant scandal sufficient to dominate news coverage for weeks to months. SCP-4547 produces these at a sustained rate of 3-7 per week.

The critical anomalous property is not any individual event, but the interaction effect: each new event retroactively suppresses institutional and public response to all prior events. Foundation analysts have termed this the “stack overflow” model of democratic erosion. Attempts to maintain attention on any single event are overwhelmed within 24-72 hours by subsequent events of equal or greater severity.

Notable Example (condensed):

DayEvent
1Federal agents fatally shoot a civilian; video evidence contradicts official account
3Minor citizens deported without legal process; one is terminally ill
5Classified files related to a trafficking investigation released with 95% redacted
8Unilateral military operation captures a foreign head of state; entity states intent to “run” the affected country
14Second undeclared war initiated against a sovereign nation without legislative authorization
15Entity threatens to destroy “a whole civilization” by end of day

No single event in this sequence received more than 96 hours of sustained institutional scrutiny before being displaced.

Addendum-1: Judicial Resistance Attempts

Over 300 legal challenges have been filed against actions taken under SCP-4547’s direction. Courts have issued injunctions and temporary restraining orders. However, compliance with these orders is anomalously low. When pressed on noncompliance, representatives of SCP-4547 produce statements that are semantically null — containing grammatically valid sentences that, upon analysis, assert no falsifiable claim and accept no obligation.

Foundation linguists have classified these statements as a memetic sub-property: AE-4547-TEFLON. Statements affected by AE-4547-TEFLON cannot be used to establish legal accountability regardless of their content, as they retroactively become “taken out of context” upon citation.

Addendum-2: The Transparency Paradox

SCP-4547 periodically performs acts of apparent institutional transparency. Foundation analysts initially interpreted these as containment breaches — moments where the entity’s operations were exposed against its will. This interpretation was incorrect.

Analysis of 14 such events revealed a consistent pattern: transparency is deployed exclusively toward information that poses no threat to SCP-4547 or its associates. Documents pertaining to events 40-70 years old are released with maximum publicity, while contemporaneous documents directly implicating SCP-4547 or its network in ongoing criminal activity are withheld, redacted, or released in a format that renders them functionally inaccessible.

Foundation statisticians have confirmed this is not random. The correlation between “document relevance to SCP-4547’s legal exposure” and “degree of redaction applied” is r = 0.94 (p < 0.001).

Addendum-3: Incident 4547-Bravo — Collapse of MTF Sigma-24

On ██/██/2026, all twelve members of MTF Sigma-24 (“Fact-Checkers”) submitted simultaneous resignation letters. Eleven of the twelve letters contained variations of the same phrase: “It doesn’t matter. Nobody reads these anyway.” The twelfth letter was blank.

Post-incident psychological evaluations revealed a shared delusional state in which all members had become convinced that reality had become “a bad first draft that nobody is editing.” Three members have since recovered. Two requested reassignment to SCP-████ (the probabilistically lethal anomaly), stating it was “less exhausting.”

Addendum-4: Institutional Immune Response Failure

The following is an excerpt from the personal log of Dr. ██████, Senior Analyst, Foundation Political Anomalies Division:

The system isn’t failing because it lacks tools. Every mechanism exists: courts, legislative oversight, press, elections, constitutional amendments. They’re all there. What 4547 does is run the clock on all of them simultaneously. A court can issue an injunction, but enforcement requires executive cooperation. Congress can investigate, but by the time hearings are scheduled, three new crises have displaced the original. The press can report, but they’re in permanent breaking-news mode and can’t sustain investigative depth on any single thread.

It’s not that the immune system has been destroyed. It’s that the pathogen moves faster than antibodies can form.

Addendum-5: Oil Acquisition Pattern

SCP-4547 has repeatedly demonstrated an anomalous fixation on petroleum reserves held by other nation-states. In each instance, the stated justification for military action varies (counter-narcotics, nuclear nonproliferation, counterterrorism), but the entity’s own public statements consistently converge on the acquisition of oil infrastructure within 24-48 hours of initial military engagement. This pattern has held across three separate nations to date.

Foundation analysts do not classify this as anomalous per se, but note that the entity’s inability to not state this goal aloud, even when doing so undermines the original justification, may constitute a minor compulsive speech anomaly. Further study is warranted.

Addendum-6: The Associate File

SCP-4547 is linked to a sealed archive (designated Archive-████) containing records pertaining to a convicted trafficking network. Legislative action requiring full disclosure of Archive-████ passed with near-unanimous support. SCP-4547’s administration released approximately 1% of the archive by the statutory deadline, with over 500 pages fully redacted.

When faulty redaction techniques allowed the public to copy-paste the blacked-out text, the files were quietly removed from the hosting platform. 16 documents disappeared within 24 hours of release without explanation.

The archive contains references to SCP-4547 by name. No investigation has been initiated.

Addendum-7: Project PURSUE — Deployment of ML-Generated Counter-Narrative

On 5/8/26, SCP-4547’s administration launched an initiative designated internally as “Project PURSUE.” The operation involved the coordinated release of 161 files, purportedly containing declassified materials related to unidentified anomalous phenomena, hosted on a purpose-built government website.

Foundation cyber-analysts examined the website and noted the following:

  • The site’s front-end code contains structural patterns consistent with large language model generation, including characteristic comment formatting and CSS variable naming conventions
  • Every file in the initial release has incident date listed as [N/A] and incident location listed as [N/A]
  • All files are sections of a single FBI document from 1965, split into multiple PDFs
  • The site’s visual design — dark theme, monospace typewriter font, retro military imagery — matches the output profile of a commercially available LLM when prompted with “create a retro government website for declassified UFO files”

One file, designated “FBI September 2023 Sighting - Composite Sketch,” consists of a single-page PDF containing a stock photograph of a rural field with a CGI ellipsoid object and lens flare composited over it. The accompanying text describes the object in clinical language (“apparent ellipsoid bronze metallic object materializing out of a bright light in the sky, 130-195 feet in length, and disappearing instantaneously”) that Foundation analysts noted is structurally identical to LLM-generated SCP entries.

The file is, functionally, an AI-generated SCP article published as official government documentation.

Six senior officials — including the heads of national intelligence, federal law enforcement, the national space agency, and the renamed defense department — issued coordinated public statements describing the release as “historic” and “unprecedented.”

The release was timed to coincide with the deterioration of an active ceasefire in an ongoing undeclared war.

Foundation memetics specialists classify Project PURSUE as a deployment of AE-4547-SHINYLURE: a tertiary anomalous property in which SCP-4547 generates high-spectacle, low-substance information events calibrated to absorb residual public attention not already consumed by AE-4547-CASCADE. Unlike CASCADE, which operates through crisis volume, SHINYLURE exploits pre-existing cultural fascination (in this case, extraterrestrial life) to create voluntary engagement with a counter-narrative.

The operation cost an estimated $██,000 of public funds. The website remains live.

Addendum-8: Reclassification Request

Dr. ██████ has submitted a formal request to reclassify SCP-4547 from Keter to Apollyon, arguing that containment is not merely impractical but structurally impossible within the affected nation’s existing institutional framework. The request is under review.

Dissenting opinion from Dr. ████:

Apollyon designation implies an existential-scale threat. 4547’s effects, while severe, are bounded by the affected nation’s borders and electoral cycle. Democratic systems have recovered from analogous — if non-anomalous — stressors before.

Dr. ██████‘s response:

That argument assumes the electoral system is still functioning as a containment mechanism. See Addendum-9. [PENDING CLEARANCE]
